NEWTON COLOURS are UK singer songwriter Will Dee and French beatmaker FORM, blending hip hop, EDM, folk, and spoken word. The duo formed in 2017, after meeting one night in a cold wet field at an illegal rave in rural southwest France.
They talked as the sun came up about their varied musical styles – Will Dee’s forays in folk music and screaming with stoner rock groups and FORM’s production of African hip hop artists Joey le Soldat, Art Melody and WAGA 3000 – and decided to make a song together, with FORM producing a beat for Dee to put words to.
After three months of computer connected collaboration, late nights writing and long days in the studio they had produced enough material for their first album: Where the Weather Went.
Bringing together all the two musicians had made before, with EDM skits on addiction, psychedelic love songs, and dark hip hop cuts about working life, NEWTON COLOURS sounds like nothing else.
