These three young Frisians’ steamy electro-punk, both live and in the studio, is a vigorous explosion of raw energy: powerful, sexy, and exciting. The band invented the term Sexy Garage Dance themselves and this remains the best way to describe Daily Bread’s music. The first album “Well, You’re Not Invited” has been received very well by both the press and their fans, and the live shows are becoming something of a legend. Few are blessed with an approach to music that is so good, so clever and so convincing at such a young age. And now Daily Bread is cautiously starting to turn its attention to the rest of the world.

Daily Bread has built up quite a reputation in the Netherlands for doing things their way thus turning down the invite to perform at the most prestigious band contest in the Netherlands because because they couldn’t use their own amplifiers and drum kit. However, after this tumultuous start Kimberly the singer, Stefan Stoer (drums) and Chris Mulder (bass) have now embarked upon a new phase of their career. Successful club and festival tours in the Netherlands, Switzerland (including the prestigious Paléo festival), Austria and Spain as well as two consecutive appearances at the annual Dutch showcase event Noorderslag have ensured that the band is now an established name on the international live scene. Immediately after the EuroSonic/Noorderslag show, five agents were fighting for the rights to book the band in the rest of Europe. In the meantime, Daily Bread has signed to the renowned booking bureau The Agency Group (TAG). TAG is one of the largest booking agencies in the World, representing artists such as The Gaslight Anthem, Gossip and Amy MacDonald. Not bad at all, for a young band who were still entering local band contests three years ago. They made their debut at the Lowlands festival this August.

In spite of all this success, Daily Bread is hungrier than ever and ready for the next step. The trio is working on new songs during the rare breaks in touring, some of which have already been performed during the live set. The new work reveals a more dynamic Daily Bread, balancing the vitality of the debut album with a more sophisticated sound. Now you can often catch an echo of Joy Division and Gang of Four alongside the trademark raw sound of the band. Before the release of the second album, there will be an EP titled … released in … in order to give us a taste of the new material.

The debut album “Well, You’re Not Invited” will be released shortly in Spain, England, Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland. These fist tentative forays abroad are helping the band to learn and to grow; thankfully without diminishing the band’s natural impudence and cheek. Daily Bread is still very much in development. Only in hindsight will we know how far they can climb, but it is now more evident than ever that this trio is capable of great things.
